Girls in STEM: Engineering the Perfect Lip Gloss

This weekend, members of Emerson's Women in STEM group in Austin, TX  had the pleasure of introducing girls to Emerson and teaching them about the various engineering roles that are available in the area of Batch Engineering. Participants played the roles of HSE Engineer, Production Engineer and more while they walked though the process of making their own lip gloss. They also worked together to solve challenges associated with mass production, quality and product marketing.

The event, which annually introduces over 650 girls to Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, is produced by the amazing nonprofit, GirlStart. Check out a few pics of our workshop and feel free to download a PDF of the instructions that we've included at the bottom of this post and replicate the workshop in your classroom or at home.
