Importing Instrument Configuration Information to AMS from field device using 475

A few months ago we upgraded to DeltaV & AMS 13.1, running on Windows Server 2008.

We have remote locations that are not on the DeltaV Network.  These locations communicate via Modbus to the DeltaV.

At these remote sites there are Rosemount devices we would like to import the settings, that were saved to the 475, into AMS.

With our previous version of DeltaV / AMS we used the ACTiSYS IRDA communicator to import the device settings.

Now we are finding out the ACTiSYS IRDA communicator is not supported for Server 2008.  Our only option is to manually enter the settings into AMS for our record keeping.

The loss of this capability has proven to be troublesome for our technicians and could lead to errors in the event of a device replacement.

Has anyone run into this condition and were you able to find a means to import your settings into AMS?

Thanks for your help.

  • Hello there!

I contacted ACTiSYS support and they can provide an updated driver to support Windows Server 2008. I recommend you contact them, there is a support email address on their website.

  • Nicholas,

Thanks for your help.  One of my associates started with ACTiSYS and was told, by their tech support, they were not available.
I forwarded your message the other day and he is trying again.

    Thanks again.
    Regards,
