Taking the Mystery out of Differential Pressure Control

Differential pressure control is a great solution for applications that have a dynamic pressure set point requirement. Systems like compressor seal systems commonly utilize a differential pressure control setup to allow for the changing inner seal pressures. However, differential pressure regulators are often confusing to select due to the various operating conditions that aren’t seen in typical pressure regulator applications.

To help mitigate some of the confusion around sizing differential pressure regulators, we recently released a technical white paper that can be used as a reference when selecting a differential pressure regulator on future differential control projects. The whitepaper includes information on the following:

1)    How a differential pressure regulator works: A brief overview of differential pressure regulator operation will help to show what is actually going on inside a regulator during normal operations

2)    Example applications: An application overview of seal oil skids is included to put some real-world perspective into how differential pressure regulators can be used to solve unique process challenges

3)    Sizing guide for differential pressure regulators: A how-to guide is included that can be used as a step-by-step guide when sizing and selecting a differential pressure regulator

Hopefully this whitepaper provides some clarity to how to effectively utilize differential pressure regulators in your systems. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to post to the comments section below.
