During a recent training class I asked the trainees to explain to me why setup #1 is better or more correct than setup #2.
The answer is setup #2 has the potential for air to be held on valve actuator when the solenoid valve opens, thus not allowing the shutoff valve to close on demand.
Why does this happen and why is it more of a problem today?
