Rosemount Radar 5300 Sensor Limits

Hi All,

Please could someone advise is it possible to change 5300 GWR sensor upper and lower limits? If yes then detailed procedure on how to do it would be greatly appreciated. In my opinion usually sensor limits are fixed and depend on the hardware capabilities.

  • these limits come with the (type of) sensor and cannot be altered, I presume
  • This will be determined by the device, dependant upon the setup configuration it has been given. You should go into the "Configure/Setup" and ensure all the parameters are set correctly against the datasheet/device and the vessel/tank that it is in. You will find this will alter the limits you see there according to the entered parameters.

Thanks all for the informtion. As I understood this parameters can not be changed directly if I have not misunderstood you. Please could you give more information on parameters that sensor limits are dependent on.

    Good day,

For the GWR radar sensor limits are defined by tank geometry and probe length. Upper sensor limit equals to the Tank Height and the Lower sensor limit = Tank Height - Probe Length.
In your case the probe length seems to be set to 3090mm and tank height to 3555mm, thats why lower sensor limit is 465mm.
