  • Ahamed ,

The 3900 pH sensor is a disposable sensor . The reference electrode portion of the sensor relies an electrolyte to perform effectively . Once the electrolyte has been consumed or poisoned by a harsh sample or the reference junction has been plugged or contaminated ,the Reference is no longer serviceable and the sensor should be replaced .

In some instances the problem could be with the Glass measuring electrode portion of the sensor . Depending on the nature of the glass failure some "reconditioning is possible .For example some oily coating can be removed ,but other effects such as cracked glass or glass depletion will resign the sensor to the scrap bin. Please contact your local service group for more information.

Be aware that Rosemount do make re-buildable sensors .Model 3300HT, 3400HT and Model 3500 are all able to be serviced by replacing and refreshing the electrolyte and junction. Again contact your local Rosemount Analytical sales office for Information.
