Wireless technology enabled mobile applications to flourish. Wireless technology has enabled intelligent field device configuration and diagnostics options for process automation-related mobile applications.
One example is the Micro Motion 5700 transmitter. It now has an option for configuration via a WiFi connection. The WiFi option turns the 5700 transmitters into an access point, enabling easy connections with just an SSID and WPA2 password.
This remote access enables plant personnel to avoid configuration work in hazardous locations, inclement weather, or hard-to-reach areas. This wireless connectivity allows users to interact with the device remotely, increasing safety and productivity.
Register for this September 21, 2022, Control magazine webinar, Harness The Power Of Coriolis Wireless Configuration And Data Management, to learn more about this method of avoiding physical access to the device. Users can make configuration changes, monitor processes, troubleshoot, extract data, run Emerson’s Smart Meter Verification software, and generate reports.
Emerson’s Anthony Gentile and Kelly Albano join webinar host Keith Larson to discuss the importance of increasing safety and harnessing powerful process data through non-contact connectivity with these flow measurement devices. You’ll learn how to manage process data effectively to make critical operational decisions without wasting valuable time on rigorous data analysis
The Micro Motion Model 5700 Advanced, Field-Mount, or Truck-Mount Coriolis Transmitter with WiFi connectivity is ideal for critical applications such as custody transfer, batching, and multiphase and concentration measurement and offers flexible outputs such as Ethernet (Ethernet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus TCP), Foundation Fieldbus and traditional analog.
