Increasing a Dataset array size

I have a running system that uses a serial card to read and write data between DeltaV and ControlLogix.  Initial configuration was set up on the Logix side to pass an array of 64 Integers and a Dataset of only 32 on the DeltaV side. My question is this if I increase the Dataset Properties / PLC / Number of Values from 32 to 64 and download the controller, will it disrupt the communications between the two systems?

  Are you using Block Write or Individual writes in the dataset? Are you able to create a test Dataset with a test module and try this out so you can confirm your Module Logic doesn't result in a reset of values due to a momentary BAD status on the data set.
  
  Hopefully someone on the forum has more experience with the Serial Card.

  Thanks for the reply. I will dig deeper into your question about the dataset. I was confident there wouldn't be an issue but errored on the side of caution and had them shut down the area of the plant before I performed the download. Everything went smoothly, and it was over in seconds, and the data appeared to ride through the download. I will have to do some testing in the future to verify unless someone else has move experience and can comment. I believe it is good practice to wait for a shutdown for this type of scenario.
