Proplus having issues on Alarms and Events

We are using DeltaV 10.3.

1. In Deltav Diagnostics, a Server Error message of "CANNOT INSERT RECORD ON DATABASE".

What does this mean and what could be the problem?  How can we resolve this?

2. In Deltav Explorer, we're getting an error while downloading the Continuous Historian in both the History Server station and EWS.

What might be the problem why we're unable to download the Continuous Historian in both servers (History server and EWS)?

3. In the History Server machine, the Continuous Historian Administration is empty.

      

Any reason why its empty?

  • The download errors relate to the DeltaV configuration database. Something is up in the Objectivity database and this needs to go through the GSC. In a forum like this, you'll likely get a lot of well meaning suggestions that could make matters worse. The GSC can work this issue constructively, and include the additional resources to get you up fast.

    I would suggest that you ensure you have good backups, and if possible perform an Export of the Database.

    The "CANNOT INSERT RECORD INTO DATABASE" has to do with the SQL database where even and Alarm data is stored. There are some known issues in v10.3 with the SQL2005 databases. There maybe a recovery path for this, but again, I urge you to go through the GSC or you local service provider to avoid making things worse.

    Since the Alarm and Events database is also on the Pro Plus, which hosts the objectivity database that reports the database error, I'm concerned you may have an issue with the workstation hardware/OS itself. So again secure your backups as best you can as you may need them to recover. Call the GSC or your service provider.

  • Was this working before? If it was working before then there might be something that caused it to not work anymore. If it did not work ever since then you may need to back track if you encountered issues during install and this includes workstation configuration.

    Did you just enabled Alarms and Events?

    Try exporting the database to an fhx file and see if you get any errors.

    Is this a live system or a demo system?

    The Alarms and Events has been enabled and was working perfectly before. It's a live system.

  • Is there any possibility of back and forth of proplus system dates?
    It may cause issue..
