We recently upgraded to v13, and I'd like to start using more of the alarm display options.
Our current alarm summary graphic uses the DVCtrlAlmSum1 object to display the current alarms. It does not seem to have an option to display the new alarm descriptions that can now be configured (it only shows the alarm container's description). Is there a new alarm summary object that I should be using, or did I miss an option somewhere in the current configuration tool?
I'm not sure if that has changed or not but you may have overwrote the display from a previous version during the upgrade and it could be using an old ActiveX object.
Selecting Properties (shown below) on the Alarm Summary object will get to config of the object
Then if you don't see the Description option in either the Available or Displayed Columns you have an old object and need to replace with new one. If it is there, just make sure it's in the displayed column and in the order you would like to see it. (see below)
If the Alarm Summary object is old, the easier way to fix is to copy the file AlarmSum.grf from the C:\DeltaV\iFix\PIC (C drive is the default but might be another drive letter depending on how DeltaV was installed) and overwrite the graphic in the D:\DeltaV\DVData\Graphics-iFix\Pic directory (D is default and may be different depending on how DeltaV was installed) with this file.
Now the Description Column in the Alarm Summary will default to the Module Description unless the Module Alarm Description has been configure which is shown below:
