Limit Switches and start-Stop Command on MRSS_11_IP

Hi to all,

have anybody used MRSS_11_IP module? I have an MOV and a pump that need to control them. someone suggest me to use it for pump and MOV! i need to have some information about MRSS_11_IP.

can we have Open and Close Limit swith signals of MOV in this module? also Start and Stop Command of Pump?

i think limit switch signals are output of "Feedback" and start-stop command are output of "Force_SP".

  • Usually MOV's have an OPEN/CLOSE/STOP command, what type of MOV are you using? If you have 2 DI's and 2DO's then you'll need a template to suit, otherwise you'll need to modify the MRSS_11_IP module to accommodate the extra IO (originally it contains 1DI and 1DO).

Inside the module is a DC (device control) block, these are used to control many discrete devices, pumps, valves, mixers, etc. so that is normal to use it on different equipment.

    thanks Adrian for answering,
i have 4 DIs as "Close Limit Switch", "Open Limit Switch", "Remote Availability Switch" and "General Failure Switch". and 2 DOs as "Close Command (Remote)" and "Open Command (Remote)".
i've changed the state masks of MRSS_11_IP to 4 active inputs and 2 active outputs. but my question is which parameters on MRSS_11_IP can be as follow DI and DO?

State mask only needs 2 DI's (OPEN and CLOSE) limits and 2 DO's. It is the number of States that is important, which is why I ask about what type of MOV (Rotork/Biffi/EIM). For our MOV's we use the Passive state as STOP, Active 1 as OPEN and Active 2 as CLOSE.

What does your MOV do if none of the DO's are on? I think if you are using 2 DO's then with both DO's off, your MOV will stop, correct?

The DI's for "Remote Avail" is used to activate the DC permissive, if in local then the DC cannot control.

The DI for General failure is used to drive an alarm in the MOV module and perhaps interlock.
