Hello guys,
I have been having this problem with a DeltaV system I am developing. When I use the default faceplate for a PID loop, I don't see the numbers which have something different thatn .0 behind the decimal point. For example: 5.0 is displayed, while 5.1 or 4.9 are not displayed !
When I changed the PV datalink in the faceplate grf from this:
DVSYS.@mod@/PID1/PV.A_CVDECPT[PV_SCALE]
to this:
DVSYS.@mod@/PID1/PV.F_CV
It works and I can see the value, but only every 4th time I open the faceplate. Every other time I start the faceplate, DeltaV openes the original and the problem is that I can't find where it stores it. I tried to change all the Loop_fp.grf in the Graphics-iFix folder but DeltaV somehow always manages to restore the original every 2nd, third and 4th try. And then bam, my modified faceplate openes. Again 3 times the original opens and again once mine.
It works like this
1st start of the faceplate: My modified faceplate2nd start of the faceplate: DeltaV original faceplate3th start of the faceplate: DeltaV original faceplate 4th start of the faceplate: DeltaV original faceplate 5th start of the faceplate: My modified faceplate6th start of the faceplate: DeltaV original faceplate 7th start of the faceplate: DeltaV original faceplate 8th start of the faceplate: DeltaV original faceplate9th start of the faceplate: My modified faceplate10th start of the faceplate: DeltaV original faceplate.....and so on
Any ideas on both odd events - disappearing floating point numbers and DeltaV magically restoring it's original Faceplate window?
Thank you in advance!Cheers,

Hi,
when I start to remember, I run into similar problems.
The decimal separator was wrong when I installed the machines/imported the project... When I changed to the correct separator all values was 100-e47 or something like that...
Ended up reinstalling the proplus and some OP stations.

I think I did something similar. I remember that when I installed Windows 7 32 bit, or during DeltaV installation I entererd to use Swedish format, but now I changed into Region and Language to Unitated States as on the other Operator Stations, but still nothing. Do you think this is too late and I have to reinstall starting with Windows?
In reply to Antoniu Barabas:
Hmm,
hard to say. Personally I tried almost every trick in the book and didn´t get it to work before reinstallation?
Don´t want to give you addittional work if there´s another way..
Do you have the reccovery disk, it doesn´t take long to install windows ~ 15 min... and then install DV..
Leave everything to US format, until you are sure that it works.. then you can change time format to 24 hours
Last minute edit: Check under region and language ->adminstrative (last) ->SYSTEM LOCALE-> should be US
regards
And to all I wish you a Happy weekend :)
I have seen the same issue when regional settings were modified from default.
As far as I know, changing regional settings after DeltaV installation may cause problems.
My advise would be to uninstall DeltaV, set correct regional settings (English US) and reinstall DeltaV.
In reply to Alfred Pol:
Your best bet is to re-install the OS. Why? technically, you could go searching through the registry and find all the places that were impacted by the regional choice during the install. Assuming you think you know where they all are, how sure can you be this won't creep up again unexpectedly because you missed one? Emerson does not document this type of information. So your best bet, for peace of mind, and a fully supported system, do a re-install of the OS according to the supported instructions, and move on.
If you decide to do a detailed investigation and come up with a procedure to restore regional settings and all registry settings related to that, please post for the rest of us. Oh and make sure to test it out a couple of times to make sure it really works :-)

A reinstall of Windows and DeltaV solved my problem. I selected Unites States where Windows asked for format. Problem solved, thanks all.
