Hi,
We were planning to use a direct SQL connection to the event journal database to fetch the alarms into the PI historian.
We would like to do that because not everything is communicated by the OPC alarms&events server (e.g. in the SQL database we have the Area, the Unit and the Attribute fields while in OPC we do not have these).
Now we have received some information that this solution will not work because the database is getting cleaned from time to time and this will disrupt the connection. Could you comment on this? Is this approach supported by Emerson?
