Update – Providing 24VDC to Field Devices
In a blog posted late last month I addressed how to provide a 24VDC source of power to a three wire field device. In the past I have used a 24VDC High Side Discrete output to provide 24VDC to these types of devices. This solution can be implemented in most DCS and PLC systems. If … Continue reading »

Hello Terry, does this also apply to the IS Marshalling hardware ? I am planning to install an Endress and Hauser flow switch that is sending a DI signal to an IS DI Namur charm. The device also requires field power between 18-30 VDC and I am not clear on where I can supply this power from. I am connecting my digital signal to terminals 3 and 4 on my IS Charm terminal block, terminals 1 and 2 are available for use. Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks, Aidan.
