The ISA104 committee, Device Integration, is exploring the role that existing IEC standards ( EDDL – IEC61804 and FDI – IEC 62769) play when addressing IoT and Industry 4.0. Thus, in the committee’s March 24th , 2016 meeting the invited speaker was Professor Christian Diedrich, ifak, Germany. Christian is one of the co-authors of the German Standardization Roadmap – Industry 4.0 . In his presentation, Professor Diedrich discusses the role that EDDL and FDI play in this roadmap.
