Viewed this BP video on the safety record of BP's Whiting Refinery Modernization Project (WRMP) and took some time to reflect on this monumental achievement that I was personally involved in as part of Emerson's Main Automation Contractor team. The project effectively built a brand new refinery, by first demolishing older process equipment/units and then constructing the new process units all while the other parts of the refinery was operating! All this was done safely to the tune of 40 million safe work hours! A true feat of modern extreme but safe engineering indeed.
