IIoT Game Changers Award honoring Eric Rotvold as an innovator leader in digitization

Eric Rotvold Emerson

It’s understandable that Emerson Automation Solutions is known for its exceptional products and services. But those products don’t happen without exceptional people behind them, and it’s nice when they get some public recognition.

One of Emerson's finest, Eric Rotvold, was nominated for the Connected Plant Game Changer Award, which was received at the Connected Plant Conference on February 27, 2018, sponsored by Power and Chemical Engineering magazines. This award singles out outstanding individuals:

We’re looking for all game changers and implementers of digital technologies in the power generation and chemical process industries (CPI). This program, honoring innovative leaders in digitalization is open to all power generation and CPI professionals. Nominees may reside anywhere in the world. We are looking for individuals who through modern techniques associated with digitalization have contributed to innovation, solved a problem or made improvements, as well as those who are fast risers or champions in the field.

Eric certainly qualifies. He’s a distinguished technologist at Emerson, a position he’s held for more than 10 years. His time at Emerson started back in 1994 when he signed on as a software engineer, and he climbed the ladder steadily, managing increasingly complex and critical projects. During his time at Emerson, wireless and other technologies have advanced enormously, and he has participated at many critical points.

Eric Rotvold Game Changer Award"Eric as an IIOT Game Changer for his contributions to WirelessHART and the progression of Wireless technology in the industrial space", said Emerson's Juan Panama who accepted the award on his behalf at the ceremony. Congratulations to Eric, and thanks for your tremendous contributions you have made to Emerson and to the entire process automation industry in the IIoT field.
