Session Abstract:
Interface level measurement in the chemical industry can be challenging if the top product changes its properties over time. Mixtures of different organic acids can change both density & permittivity. After seeing several level technologies fail engineers at the chemical company Momentive Sokolov used Guided Wave Radar to make accurate measurements. This presentation describes the method used & developed by Momentive to overcome this problem which is common in the chemical industry. Possible solutions & best practices based on Rosemount 5300 GWR in external chamber in combination with top product DC verification are also explored.
