Session Abstract
“Safety Functional Management” for a process is defined based on the requirements of harmonised European Standards. This establishes the equirements for the entire life-cycle of electrical, electronic and programmable electronic equipment (E/E/PES) within safety equipment. For the operators of thermal power plants this introduces new challenges. This presentation will address these new requirements with examples of recently completed projects including boiler and turbine protection. The presentation will also describe engineering tools and standards for VGB and VDMA retrofit projects.
