091 Alarm Management - Project and follow-up routines

Session Abstract

Following an upgrade of the process control system at Pronova BioPharma in 2006, the company was experiencing too many alarms. This was caused by the wrong alarm levels and priorities, combined with a lack of knowledge and the absence of an alarm philosophy. To address these issues alarm project and management routines for the alarm system have been established. This presentation will review the main project activities, including the challenges and results. The presentation will also look at follow-up routines and challenges.
