Session Abstract
This presentation describes the application of a backpressure regulator for the anti-surge control of an air blower at the Repsol Puertollano oil refinery in Spain. Replacing an obsolete system, the main challenge was to provide a backpressure regulator capable of detecting two process conditions and very fast actuation to control them. The presentation describes the special modifications made to meet the process conditions to be controlled and the benefits gained. A brief introduction to anti-surge.
