Your Personal Brand

I just saw this status update from Chris Amstutz pointing to a great article over at CareerGravity, Avatars: To Protect and Serve Your Online Personal Brand.

The post's author, Jon DiPietro, asks the question:

When it comes to your online personal brand, your avatar or profile picture is your first impression. So what does your avatar say about you?

The post then highlights what not to do. My thought on what to do is to take the opportunity to build your personal brand with a real photo of you. Here's how to do it in our Emerson Exchange 365 community.

Start by making sure you're logged in and clicking on your user name top right,

After clicking on the username link and going to your profile page, click "Edit Profile"

You'll see a "Change Avatar" link to change your picture right below the current picture:

As you participate here in the Emerson Exchange 365 community and get to know others who participate, it will make your face-to-face meetings richer when you gather at future Emerson Exchange, Performance without Compromise, or other industry or Emerson events.
