Download chaged setup data to controllers to add a new name set

Hi,

I want to add a new name set at the configuration, and once completed, it is necessary to make a download of the changed setup data of the named sets to all the controllers in the system. I'd like to know if I can perform this download with complete confidence that it won't affect the process. It's not possible to stop the process to perform this download, and the consequences of stopping it are very serious (it's only done once every four years).

  I have downloaded changed setup data hundreds of times on running plants with no issue. If the only setup data change made was adding a new named set, you can download without worry. I always add a standard disclaimer that any time you download anything, there is a small chance of something weird happening, but I would say go ahead and download. Also, you need to download to the changed setup data to the workstations as well.

  I also work with DeltaV for the last 20 years all through the different versions. Before every last click on the DOWNLOAD button I still think twice. BUT I have never faced issues downloading the "changed setup data" - and approx 95% of my downloads were at live production systems.
