The 4 P's You Need to Know to Take You From College to Career

One of the most common advice given to high school and college students is to pick a major based on subjects you are good at, but this is small picture thinking. You are more than just the subjects you're good at in the classroom. Your value is in your 4 P's - Personal desires, personality, passions, and performance. Understanding and recording your version of the 4 P's can help you ensure you move from classroom to career knowing your unique value and full potential.

I shared this advice recently with high school students in the Houston area at the 14th annual Young Women Energized (YWE) hosted by the Women's Energy Network. Young Women Energized was an event that helped high school students discover the abundant career opportunities and paths out there for them in the energy industry. Through round table mentoring, panels, and industry speakers students we're able to learn about the bigger picture of an industry value chain and how they can bring their own 4 P's to add value to the energy value chain.  Check out  more of what I shared in this article so you can discover what your 4 P's are and use them as your guide to navigating your journey from classroom to career.
