Personally I think there may be significant benefit to moving the event to winter or early spring. There is a long stretch of time from New Years to Memorial Day when manufacturers often get no time to get away. (Many don't get Good Friday)
End users may be a little more motivated to make an effort to mke it to the event if it means thay can legitimately get out of their plant for a few days during that long stretch.
