DeltaV installed on a server

I am just trying to confirm that when installing DeltaV onto a Server instead of a desktop PC is a seperate server required for both the Engineering station and the Operators station?

The site currently has version 11.7 running on desktop PC's but an upcoming expansion the customer would like DeltaV within a server enviroment.

NO, you can configure the Proplus to be the domain controller.

  • While it’s possible to run DeltaV operate on a PRO+ station, if it is a server class machine (Dell R710, etc.) you can run into issues with the alarm subsystem as the server has no capability for sound, regardless of domain or workgroup setups.

If your requirements deem a server is necessary, then I would also recommend using a separate workstation as an operator station.
