Experience using FD0-VC-Ex4.FF

We're configuring a valve coupler FD0-VC-Ex4.FF (from P+F) in DeltaV, we´re having problems understanding how to receive the valve positions using the only DI function block available in the device. Has anyone used this device before? any comment would be welcome.
