Join us for the Emerson Exchange 2014 Refining and Petrochemical Industry Forum on Monday afternoon October 6th, and Refining Mixer Monday evening

I am inviting you to participate at the Emerson Exchange Refining and Petrochemical Industry Forum in Orlando on Monday, October 6th, from 2:30-4:00 pm in the Osceola 1-2-3 room.

There is also a new social event on Monday evening organized by Emerson’s Refining Industry Solutions Group to get deeper collaboration with your colleagues in the Refining Industry to solve pressing issues. The event will be informal in nature with no presentations.  The refining mixer will be Monday, 8-10pm in Sun Ballroom A.

Opportunity crudes, abundant natural gas, regulations and safety

The refining and petrochemical industries are positively impacted by the abundant and available shale gas and tight oil in the United States.  As a result, new petrochemical facilities are being considered, including refinery integration.  The use of tight oil is fairly new, so there are challenges utilizing a new feedstock including railcar shipping and handling in the tank farm.  Also, new regulations like Tier 3 will impact refiners as they prepare their facility to meet lower sulfur specifications.

We will convene a panel to speak about topics listed below, followed by an opportunity for the audience to participate in the discussion.

  • Shale oil development in Argentina and its impact in Downstream (YPF Case), Hernan D'Ascoli, Strategic Planning Manager - Downstream, YPF
  • Regulations: RFS2, 40 CFR Part 60 subpart JA, Tier 3 (2017), Alan Weldon, Technical Services Manager, Hunt Refining Company
  • Safety: Crude by rail and tank farm logistics, Patrick Truesdale, Principal Solutions Consultant, Emerson Process Management

I look forward to seeing you at the Refining and Petrochemical Industry Forum on Monday, October 6th, from 2:30-4:00 pm, and the Refining Mixer from 8-10pm.
