good day.. about the 1420 gateway. before I can connect it to my pc/laptop i need a cross cable . can i make my gateway 1420 wireless?in what way? thank you very much :)
Hi zar,
Yes, you can make 1420 gateway to be wireless. Just simply connect the Ethernet port from 1420 to a wireless router access point (Wifi), and you can access the web-based management software or AMS through this wireless access point from your laptop wifi.
Please don't forget to configure your laptop wireless ip address to be in the same subnet class as your 1420 gateway ip address :)
I hope that answer your question. Feel free to reply with your comment for any further information required.

hi ma'am Emmy thank you for your reply.
Can you give me exact instruction how to configure my laptop and router :)
In reply to zar:
There is a fast "connect" manual supplied with the gateway.
The IP address is usually attached to the gateway, propably 192.168.1.(100 ?) subnetmask 255.255.255.0
If it´s for DV configured then maybe 10.4.0.100 subnet 255.254.0.0.
Open the network card settings in Win.. , advanced settings-> internet protocol version 4, change the alternative connection to the same as the gateway (change the last number to e.g. 1).
Then you just type in 192.168.1.100 in your browser, enter the password (in the fast manual) and you are connected to the Gateway.
If you do not have admin rights on your computer you could run into problems with the certificate from the gateway..
I would reccomend that you first configure the gateway and router/repeater with cable connection, before you try WIFI
