cant decommision a device deltav 13.3

I have a deltav systems version 13.3 after an upgrade from version 7.2 to version 13.3, everything seems okay,  but recently i tried to decommission a device but instead i get this message

" The deltav host system interface has not been configured in AMS device manager.

Run the network configuration utility in AMS device manager to complete this requirement."

AMS was installed on pro plus but not licensed , and before now i can do any configuration normally . please advice

  • Hopefully someone can give you more details as to your next step, but changes in DeltaV/AMS licensing need to be addressed to restore certain functionality that was embedded in DeltaV in earlier releases.

Both of these versions are quite old at this point, so my memory is fuzzy, but in some of the early days, there was a separate product called AMS Inside that was a stripped down version of AMS that was installed by default. Somewhere around the v10 days, things changed to AMS needed to be installed separately. The default unlicensed version would allow you to do things through DeltaV explorer, but you still had to setup the network interface inside AMS for it to work.

So, more than likely, all you need to do is run the Network Configuration application under the AMS Device Manager menu and add a DeltaV Network to the station. This will require you to stop AMS Services first before running Network Configuration as well as you will need the DeltaVAdmin password to add the DeltaV Network.

    Hopefully this helps!
