Controller Upgrade Utility error (VerifyData Failed)

When trying to update a new MD+ controller from its stock rev to 14.3 getting the following error

The file in question is confirmed to be in the correct folder. Trying to update different MD+ controllers gives the same result.

There are already some MD+ controllers working on this system running their current rev.

Any ideas what would both cause the issue and resolve it?

  Do you have the latest Workstation Bundle also installed? There have been some changes lately for firmware updates that require both a certain level of workstation hotfix bundle with the updated controller bundle. For example, in the 14.LTS Hotfix KBA, there is this note: "Before performing a MD+ and SD+ controller flash upgrade, make sure
  to install DeltaV_1431_WS_34_CSS or later."

  Do you have another workstation from which you can run the upgrade utility? If you get the same error message, yet everything else seems to work, it is unlikely to be a random issue. Having the latest Workstation Hotfix is highly recommended, especially given the KBA referenced by Matt Forbis
