Introducing FlexConnect™ Solutions for Rockwell Automation, Allen-Bradley, PLC5 / 1771 Remote I/O

Does anyone have any of the 1.5 million Rockwell Automation, Allen-Bradley, PLC5 / 1771 Remote I/O, PLC’s at your plant/mill site that you want to migrate to a DeltaV solution? Are you puzzled on how to do that quickly and painlessly?  Well, our valued FlexConnect Solutions alliance partner Phoenix Contact has come to the rescue!  They have developed and released an interface card solution that fits in to the existing PLC card cage, connects to the existing field wiring that’s terminated on the swing arms, and provides flying-lead / open-end cables to the various DeltaV I/O subsystems.  Rockwell Automation has already announced that this PLC platform will be transitioning to the retired lifecycle status / end of life as of June 2017. It’s not too early to start planning the migration of this platform.

For those attending this year’s Emerson Exchange event in Austin TX, from October 24-28th 2016, please make a point of visiting the Modernization and Phoenix Contact booths on Monday through Wednesday nights for further details and a hands-on demo of these new solutions.  Additionally, there are two valuable sessions that introduce these new solutions;

1-10593: Simplifying Legacy DCS Migrations, Utilizing DeltaV CHARMs & FlexConnect Solutions

3-10170: Emerson Presents: Applying Technology to Modernize Your Legacy DCS to DeltaV

For additional questions on migrating PLC systems, please contact your local Emerson office or valued local business partner.
