MyEmerson Digital Tools

Brad Budde, Lisa Nelson, Allison SterlingEmerson’s Brad Budde, Lisa Nelson and Allison Sterling presented on the topic of MyEmerson Digital Tools. Digital technology is widely affecting the way we live. US Adults spent 6.3 hours/day on average consuming digital media.

Engineers work with CAD drawings, engineering tools, procurement tools and asset information that they get online to do their jobs more productively. Recently announced is the MyEmerson Personalized Digital Experience.

It includes MyTraining, MySoftware, MyWorkspace, MyTransactions, MyAssets and MyPreferences. These provide faster access with training courses, software licenses & updates, engineering sizing & configuration tools, order information and records of their Emerson assets.

Brad may a key point that it’s not just about the tools but the streamlined work practices it enables for users and the people they work with to perform their tasks. Collaboration is enabled between staff members and between the staff and Emerson, Emerson Impact Partner, and Emerson local business partner sales and support personnel.

Where CAD drawings may have taken 4 hours to get into the customer CAD database, MyEmerson enables this task to be done in 15 minutes. Similar time savings are enabled in field service tasks, installed base maintenance and other tasks.

Allison described the MyWorkspace area of MyEmerson. It provides a collaborative environment to solve complex problems, maximize efficiency and enable knowledge transfer between the end user, Emerson and Emerson Impact Partner network.

For example, project data can be managed for effectively bringing both offline and online together in a common area. Specifications of measurement devices and other assets required for the project are together with their status whether the specification is complete or incomplete. Drawings for CAD, 2D, wiring, manuals and user guides can be kept together in an easily accessible area.

Lisa described the MyTransactions area, which is designed to provide faster and more complete quotes and orders. This means more accurate orders that can be placed faster which improves efficiency and reduces risks in the procurement process. This section includes the transaction history and can accommodate offline orders that have been placed in the past. The section allows connections with company Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to streamline the procurement process.

Lisa next discussed the MyAssets area of MyEmerson. This section shows the digital installed base for planning and service. Some of the tools include a walkdown report view, asset ratings and recommendation vide, and comments & planning. QR Codes have been added to products and RFID technologies for valves. This provides access to asset details, technical documentation, spares & reorders, lifecycle status and more.

Brad discussed the MySoftware which will enable a front door to licensed software for the user. MyPreferences specifies how you want Emerson to communicate with you.

The goal is to simplify the tasks you need to do through the lifecycle of your facility from planning and executing your capital projects to operating and maintaining your assets over time.
