Non Standard IP Address for the ProPlus

Has anyone see a ProPlus with an address ending in other than .4 or .8? I have an example from a customer who's ProPlus' IP address ends in .46 and I've never see anyone change from the default and I'm not even sure how you'd accomplish that. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Bruce

  • It's possible that they manually changed the IP address of the machine, but that should not be done.  The IP addresses must be 10.4.0.6 and 10.8.0.6 on the ProPlus primary and secondary ACN respectively.

That "must" sounds pretty definitive. I haven't seen anything in books on line saying that the ProPlus address shouldn't be changed and to be honest I never tried changing it so was surprised to see that this customer had a non-standard address. Where did you get the info that it absolutely shouldn't be done?

    Thanks

  • In reply to Bruce Brandt:

All DeltaV ACN IP addresses are set and controlled by the DeltaV system.  Users should not change any IP addresses, they are not designed to be altered once they are set.

  • Thanks. I noticed after I looked closer that you work for Emerson in Austin so I know where you info comes from.
