refresh data slow

i have a problem with the data refresh in the operate.

after some hours i restarted the station, the refresh of data become very slow.

deltav revision is 9.3 build 5224 and i have installed all the hotfix for that revision.

suggestions???

  • When we configure link on picture, we use "Expression Builder".

    You can find there "Refresh Rate".

    Try this.

    check also scan rate of your control module(s)

  • Try to run the 'Dumpdatasource" utility. This will tell you, if you have any refresh rate issues.

    You can also run deltaV 'Refresh rate expert' on the graphics (Found in standard 'DeltaV_Picture' operate toolbar).

    Does this happen for a specific graphic or for all the graphic files?
    Does the perticuler graphic file has an ActiveX control like combobox or Textbox object embedded in it?

    i have already run dumpdatasource and result no refresh rate issues.

    it happen for all the graphics.

    i don't have particular graphic object, it's a very simple project.

    maybe some problem with graphic driver ATI HYDRAVISION?

    someone told me that i have to disable the pplant lan...could be the cause of my problem?

    it's really strange that happens only after some hour after i have restarted the station. seems thet fills some buffer or something like that

    in to the log files of dumpdatasources i found something strange:

    I think you have iFix insteed DVSYS - check this

    my fault, i checked the flag DVSYS in dumpdatasources. now i get no errors.

    i also upgraded the video driver.

    we will see tomorrow the refresh time

    The following recommendations may help you to optimize your system performance while implementing a refresh rate strategy.

    Leave the default rate of .1 seconds for the refresh rate of every animation in a picture. Alternatively, use one slow rate for the objects that can have slow updates, and one fast rate (such as the .1 second default) for objects requiring faster updates. Using different update rates tends to result in slower performance.

    Avoid using a refresh rate of 0. This is the fastest refresh rate possible and will, therefore, have the greatest impact on your system's performance.  

    When you modify pictures that were created with early versions of DeltaV Operate, use the Refresh Rate expert to set the update rates for older pictures to .1 seconds or greater.

    i also noticed that when graphic slowing down the process SQLSERVR use 3 time the normal amount of ram. normally is 45 mega. when station slow down become 145 mega
