Supplying Technology and Expertise in the Permian Basin

Sunrise in the bustling Permian Basin in Odessa, Texas

Articles such as this New York Times piece, How a ‘Monster’ Texas Oil Field Made the U.S. a Star in the World Market, highlight the importance of this region in the global supply of energy.

At the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Emerson’s president & Emerson Automation Solutions’ chairman Michael Train described the important role automation technology plays in business performance for the region’s oil & gas producers:

He shared the importance of training in supporting the technology-focused jobs created by the energy producers:

With Emerson customers, local dignitaries, and members of the local press, Mike cut the ribbon to officially open the center.

Longstanding Emerson Impact Partner, Vinson Process Controls has been a part of the Permian Basin since the early 1940s and co-located with the Permian Basin Service Center. Here’s a look at their mobile service trailer for on location valve testing:

With the grand opening now past, the work shifts to helping train the digital workforce and supplying the automation equipment and expertise to upstream and midstream oil & gas companies in the Permian Basin.
