Digital Technologies Support Safe Remote Operation of Offshore Platforms
The ability to remotely operate offshore oil and gas platforms enables companies to minimize the number of people required on board the platform. Because less accommodation is then required, the weight of the platform can be reduced, leading to cost savings, while transporting fewer people offshore increases safety, by keeping more workers away from potential hazards, and also reduces operating costs.
