Control your factory remote

Our customer has a carwash, use an Series9030 GE Fanuc PLC with a datapanel
Now he did switch to an RX3i from Emerson and a Quickpanel+ from Emerson

he can use Target view on a remote PC to connect to the panel, works fine

Only he wants to do that from an iPhone?

What is the best solution?

How do I set this up?

Thanks and Regards, Leo Mennen

  • Hi Leo!

QuickPanel+ supports several remote access options as follows.

    1. VNC. This is my preferred option. QuickPanel+ has a built-in VNC server and you can install a free of charge or paid VNC client on your 'phone depending upon what level of cyber security and support you need. VNC supports full screen monitoring with no additional screen creation.
    2. Custom Web Documents. The QuickPanel+ can write html pages that can be served up by a web server, either built-in to the QuickPanel+ or using some external web server. Web pages can be viewed on your 'phone using a built-in browser such as Chrome, Firefox or Safari.
    3. HTML5 Dashboards. The QuickPanel+ can write html pages that can be served up by a web server, either built-in to the QuickPanel+ or using some external web server. Web pages can be viewed on your 'phone using a built-in browser such as Chrome, Firefox or Safari.

The QuickPanel+ can also send alarms by e-mail using SSL.

You will need some form of wireless network access, either a WiFi adapter near the QuickPanel+ or WiFi provided by the end user's plant network.

Cyber security will need to be considered. QuickPanel+ includes SECOMEA SiteManager. You can purchase a SECOMEA remote access license for secure remote access to the QuickPanel+ using SECOMEA's secure cloud. SECOMEA SiteManager aso supports secure pass-through so you could configure remote access to the RX3i controller as well.
