The app is designed to improve operations in chemical, oil and gas, power and refining operations.
Like all Plantweb Insight apps, the new Heat Exchanger app employs pre-built algorithms based on decades of process experience and industry-vetted analytics. It gives the user immediate access to predictive diagnostics so that maintenance can be prioritized without unexpected shutdowns. The easy-to-use interface lets personnel take instant action within a browser from any laptop, tablet, smartphone, or other device connected to the network. It literally puts actionable information in the palm of the hand.
The new app monitors shell and tube heat exchangers giving real-time status and alerts on fouling, heat duty and heat transfer coefficient. Remarkably, the app doesn’t require integration with the plant’s existing monitoring and control system. It can operate completely independent of existing or legacy control systems allowing operations to be upgraded more rapidly and efficiently. The app can also leverage existing data points if desired, and in the future will use OPC UA to collect data stored in the control system, historian or database if access is available.
