DeltaV Remote Access Service Technical Questions

Hi All,

I have a couple of questions because I do not find much information about this solution:

1. Is it possible to handle redundancy in the network for RAS? such as primary and secondary in the deltav control network?
2. If I have a main link and it drops, is it possible to route the traffic to the secondary link?
3. If the APP Station is my RAS Server and it need to be rebooted, what solution i can provide for my remote operator stations connected to this server do not lose the visibility of the process?
4. I understand that the maximum bandwidth that can be used is 1.5Mb per remote connection, if I have six connections this means that my link is passing 6Mbps?

  Answering some of your questions in a simpler format:
  
  1) Yes, DeltaV Remote Access Service can be deployed with redundant networks
  2) Yes, the network redundancy will allow switchovers automatically
  3) You can switch remote network connections by running the Remote Access Control application and choosing Switch Remote Access Server option manually once you determine the primary server has failed
  4) I don't know exactly where you got this information about bandwidth utilization and it actually varies depending on how the system is designed and configured. I suggest contacting Emerson's support for more information about what you are trying to accomplish.
