CSLS digital outputs are going to RED indicates and fails outputs every day 11.12 AM.

CHARMS CSLS periodic IO fault every 24hrs

CHARMS CSLS IO cards periodic failure at every 24hrs intervals which causes an LP, MP compressor trip at every 11:12 AM on daily basis.

At this particular time 11:12 am out of 40 DO CHARMS 25 DO CHARMS CSLS IO cards red lights flashes within 7 seconds and then all the DO normalize.

All 25 CHRMs are random, mean in same baseplate few will go fail and few will remain.

Please I need some help.

  • Log a call with GSC. Troubleshooting via an open forum on a Safety System could make matters worse. You should be following a strict process here to get to the root cause as quickly and safely as possible.

In this process, you need to confirm things like Logic Sover and CHARM software versions so GSC can identify any known issues fixed by latest firmware.

The Red Flashing LED is intended to indicate a field side issue on a channel (line fault diagnostics, open loop, short circuit etc). You should take a look at wiring and any common connections, like signal common. Identify any patterns, commonalities on the bad and good signals (baseplates affected, field device types and wiring paths).

The fact that it is occurring at the same time each day and creating a field side diagnostic issue makes it hard to see this as being a CHARM root cause, but some common component, such as 24 Vdc power or DC Common, and some related activity occuring at that time.

That means a lot of "What If" questions and checking everything. Nothing is off the table, including the CSLS and CHARMS, and Baseplate installation. The GSC would help investigating product related logs and known issues. So open a call and work the problem with them.
