use inverted mouse pointer in operator account

Dear All

Kindly advise as operator insists to use inverted large mouse pointer on run mode using operator account , in-spite  that operator account

does not have windows access so whenever I use any account that have win access and invert it, but once log on using operator account

mouse pointer reverts back to standard / white pointer.

is there is any way to make mouse pointer inverted in operator account.

Our system is Deltav operate v 14.31 lts

win 10

  With the Operator account logged in, click the Windows Desktop button on Flexlock and enter username and password for an account that has desktop access (i.e. administrator) and then go change the required mouse settings.

  I did this but when I log off this account and re-logon with operator account the mouse reverts back to standard white scheme. Is there any way around?

  You don't log off this Operator account, you leave the Operator Account Logged in, just click the Windows Desktop button on Flexlock and then use login information at this prompt to a user that has desktop access (i.e. Administrator). You should get presented with two interfaces:

  First one you will select Yes.

  

  Second is where you enter the username and password with account that has desktop access.

  To provide some context, every account in DeltaV requires a Windows account which provides the logon credentials used by DeltaV Logon. That is DeltaV does not store any passwords, but uses the matching User Name account in Windows. Normally, the Windows account is created by DeltaV User manager, which also assigns this Windows account to the required User Security Groups in order to provide this User with the appropriate Windows level privileges, such as having access to DeltaV programs and Directories, and also for ability to run Remote Desktop if that user requires it.
  
  DeltaV then layers the DeltaV Security privileges or Keys that enable the user to do DeltaV stuff, like which plant Area he has control over (can Write to parameters in modules) and which programs and computer access he has, like access to Windows Desktop, or not.
  
  DeltaV User Manager also allows the User to be targeted to be a Local User, a Domain user. As long as the specific user defined has Windows credentials to logon to the DeltaV station, you can create a DeltaV user in DeltaV, but define the matching windows user externally. That is a much bigger discussion involving Domain Trusts and requires manual setup on the Windows side. DeltaV User Manager only creates Windows user accounts in the DeltaV domain, or the Pro Plus in a workgroup.
  
  Why is this important? You can logon to a DeltaV Workstation (Windows logon) with a generic User account, which sets up the Windows level access for the Workstation, such as being member of DeltaV Group. This default user would have minimal or zero DeltaV level privileges and would allow the workstation to automatically logon and launch the DeltaV HMI, and display the default Graphic without triggering any alarms. At this point, it would wait for the Operator to enter his credentials and that would assign his privileges.
  
  So it is important to be logged on at the Windows level if we are going to make changes to a specific user's profile. As Matt pointed out, to launch access to the Windows desktop, you need a DeltaV user with that access. This Desktop access logon does not change the Windows Logon user, and modifying the user profile will apply to the currently windows user.
  
  If you logged out of DeltaV and back into DeltaV user manager as the Admin, you would not be changing the Windows User. But if you log out of Windows, and then back in with the Admin user, you would be changing that profile and not the Operator profile.
  
  So remember, Windows logon and user defines the Windows related privileges such as file/application access, while the DeltaV Logon, using the same credentials, adds the DeltaV level privileges in terms of Span of control and Parameter security. Changing DeltaV user only changes DeltaV privileges, not Windows security.
  
  There is also a whole other discussion to be had on setting Domain policies to manage user profiles, if you have a DeltaV Domain. I'm not that familiar with Domains so I can't comment on what or how to approach that. Maybe someone else could add some insight there.

  Thanks for your support. The situation now that I created one generic account with desktop access then logged with it, after that change mouse pointer then switch to Deltav desktop and logon deltav from flexloc . this maintains the inverted pointer providing I need to re-adjust it every time I logoff windows.
