DeltaV has stopped working

Hi everyone, I need help/advice on what to do. I had a problem with Pro Plus. 
Services suddenly stopped and wouldn't start for a while (Operation Run, Explorer, Trends, Administration). 

"A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Please close the programm."

At the time, I had no similar problems on terminal servers or workstations. I was having trouble downloading files, and the download kept getting interrupted. 

"error code 4, OSS_TIMEOUT"

All network connections are OK


After closing all open services and a few hours later, everything started working again (the download option appeared earlier).

1410S Smart Wireless Gateway WebUI

Hi All, we are trying to connect a 1410S (Not DeltaV Ready Gateway) smart wireless gateway to our DeltaV Primary Network. I have preconfigured the network settings but the webUI is not accessible from my Deltav Engineering Workstation. I have checked the DeltaV Firewall and there's no rule blocking it and also Smart Switch are unlocked.

For sure I am missing something. Can you give me some guidelines on how I can access the WebUI from a DeltaV Workstation?

Is there any information on how to connect the temporary Proplus to the Primary Modbus port IP address? We are unable to find any specific information in BOL or Guardian. It obviously connected years ago when the system was first deployed because the SZ controllers were commissioned at that time. The temporary Proplus IP address is set to 10.4.0.6, 255.255.2.0. The Modbus address is set to 167.151.x.x, 255.255.255.0. The system still is V12. Should it still be possible to connect the temporary Proplus to the Primary port since the Modbus address was changed. In v12 there is no way to set the primary and secondary Modbus port separately. An upgrade to 15 is being considered. Is the connection method different with v13 and up?

DeltaV Reporter Configuration

I a, using DeltaV 10.3.5 and installed MIcrosoft Excel 2007 in my ProPlus station. I want to configure DeltaV reporter to generate a daily report automatically, of Historical data, Alarms and Events of some specific Tag at a specific time of the day.

Please guide me step by step how to do that or share me any relevant document if available.

String manipulation

Hello, what can you do with strings in DeltaV? I know you can concatenate 2 strings with the operator + but besides that can you do anithing else? can you look for a string inside another string? can you remove part of a string?

How to restrict some users access to single user session out of 6 sessions.

We have a remote desktop with 6 sessions out of which 5 are with Visitor rights and one with admin rights.

Can anyone suggest how to restrict access to only the admin right session for some users?

Emerson Fisher DPC2K HART DD launch time?

The Emerson DPC2K supports HART FSK; however, it appears the DD has not yet been issued.

Does anyone know the progress or an estimated timeline for when the DD will be available, specifically for WirelessHART THUM applications?

DeltaV Operate closes immediately after opening

Good afternoon everyone,

I have a problem with DeltaV Operate. I installed DeltaV 14.3.1 FP1 on a new workstation to be an "Oper-station" (Precison 5860), but when I try to open Operate (run or config mode), it closes before the loading percentage bar appears and does not display any errors.

I have already installed several DeltaV workstations, but this problem has never occurred. Have you ever encountered this?

Note: The entire DeltaV installation went perfectly well, without any errors, and I have already tried reinstalling DeltaV and the problem persists.

I would like to thank everyone in advance for their attention.

Please find the attached file for reference.

We are currently experiencing high-frequency noise in the range of 2 kHz to 20 kHz, which is causing interference and resulting in DeltaV AO IMAN and HART communication errors. Additionally, AMS is unable to detect the instruments.

Could you please assist us in resolving this issue?

Graphics Quick Edit permission

I have noticed at some of the sites the quick edit functionality is applicable if the DeltaV user is supervisor and others not. So, I would like to know how to disable it and to be applicable only if the user is Emerson.

Filter Alarm and Events based on DeltaV User Group Access

Is there a way to filter events data from either the Ejournal or DVHisDB based on DeltaV user group access or key assignment?

Currently we have a prefix that’s used to identify user role but it’s a historical setup from the days of NT before AD and want to phase it out. Our MES colleagues use this prefix to identify certain events for batch reporting purposes. Just wondering if anyone knows a way to identify users based on DeltaV User group or key assignment or if there is a table in either Ejournal or DVHisDB that would help.

For greater context, the purpose is to identify interventions by Engineers, currently identified by ENG_Username but looking to remove the "ENG_" prefix and using another identifier to filter these events.

Lower sensor trim excess correction on absolute pressure transmitter

Absolute pressure transmitter: 3051T Capillary type

Upper / Lower Limit: 0 ~ 1551.4 torr

The atmospheric pressure for the standard gage is 753 torr.

Installation site make a transmitter to get 826 torr, when I calibrate perform "Lower Sensor Trim"(TREX), I want to make the 826 torr become 753 torr, but the TREX showed "Excess Correction".

I know maybe move the transmitter close to installation site of the diaphragm will solve this problem, but how much distance to move? I don’t understand how to calculate.

3051 Pressure Transmitter range changed randomly

Hello,

We recently had a 3051 gauge pressure transmitter decide to change its range in the middle of the night. The desired range and calibrated range is 0-1000 psig. Typical operating pressure is ~300 psig. A couple of nights ago, this transmitter decided to change its URV from 1000 to 315.7. The tranmitter display indicated the proper pressure and the milliamp output calculated to be accurate at this range, but it was throwing our DCS control off. The output was 19.1 mA as found. I changed the URV back to 1000 and this fixed the issue. Can anyone explain to me how this transmitter decided to change its URV in the middle of the night? The ambient temp was about 100°F. There was nobody in the area that would have changed the range and the cameras back that up. The transmitter is not on a HART AI for the DCS, so I don't think there could be any input from the DCS that would affect it.

DeltaV Live Get DVDATA Root Directory

TLDR:

Does any one know how to find the DVDATA Root Directory within DeltaV Live/Typescript?

Summary of Problem:

Customer requirement is to allow for selection of different PHV charts for a given module.

For this Im currently usign ENV.RunAsnyc function to open CHS.exe for the specified PHV file which is working.

Unfortunetly as DVDATA/CHARTS/LIB may be installed on different drives I cant guarante the logic will always work across all stations. i.e C:/DVDATA or D:/DVADAT

From my reading HTML5 WEB API, does'nt have an real file system interface as I cant simply check if the file exists at either path when usign typescript.

In DeltaV Operate where DVDATA is located can be extracted from the VB variable "System.PicturePath", which is configured via DeltaV Operate System Configuration Utility.

Is there an equivalent/similar "System.PicturePath" for DeltaV Live which I could use to extract the folder location of the DVDATA folder.

Besides configurign a %DVDATA% environmental variable on all workstatiions does any body have an approach for providing the above requirement in DeltaV Live?

No unit phases or Phase logic modules error during OP verification

Hello Experts,

I was following a painting tutorial and created an operation called OP_FINISH. However, when I assigned it to the Batch Executive and attempted verification, it resulted in an error message.

I understand that the assigned unit class has phases that include the phase logic, as I have tested these phases during the phase testing section of the tutorial.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

PK modbus server-multiple clients

Will i have issues with using the PK modbus server and having multiple clients on the TCP network. They will all be using different registers to write and read of course, but i'm not sure if the port can accept communications like that. I'm typically the client so being the server is a new configuration for me.

3.A026

Also observed that transmitter all data erased it shows all parameters value is 0. Even Transmitter does not takes new configuration.

Please suggest solution.

I have customer that a realy small system that act similar a BMS. The system consist of one proplus on simplex controller and a few sls1508. the proplus is never used as the SLS doing is job of monitorin the safety of the no operation is needed. we are planning a upgrade of the system and from 11.3.1 to 15.lts. The customer wanted the Proplus to be virtualized on their VMWare infrastructure and current network infranstructure also. the current network ID 10.12.79 /24. is their a possibility to have the proplus used that network?

Parameter D_ACT not found

Hello everyone,

I am currently facing the issue that DeltaV Live tries to use a parameter that is not defined. A rectangle is supposed to change colour as soon as the Alarm Parameter B/DO.CV comes up. DeltaV Live however, wants to interact with the parameter B/D_ACT.

I should add, that the implementation works as intended. The alarm goes off and the parameter I added triggers the rectangle to change colour. Nontheless DeltaV Live shows a broken heart (in the picture on the top left corner).

Has anyone faced this issue before? How can I solve it? Why would DeltaV try to interact with a parameter that is not defined in the first place?

Manipulate an ACT-TIME, on-line value in an EDC block

We had a scenario where an active time value was reset from the graphic screen by accident. Supervisor wants the value put back to where it was at prior to being reset. I can see the act_time in the EDC1 function block while in online view in control studio on the specific control module, but I cannot set value and submit my change. I've tried to set the value and also just edit the time but the OK button remains greyed out. We are running DeltaV V13.1
