Simple, but yet still so Complicated

Have ran into this Nuisance (not really a problem) quite a few times with Charm Panels for DeltaV  S-Series that have the Wire Name Tag Holder on the wire side. When going to troubleshoot equipment or check wiring on a particular charm, I have to remove that cover/name tag holder to access the terminals.

- My thought or proposal is to move the cover/name tag holder to the left side of the charm carrier so that you have complete access to the terminals and wires.  This in turn will give you free access to both sides because as you rotate that holder it will expose the tab that you can release to pop out the charm.  This proposal also adds protection against accidentally popping out a charm when accessing a point near a charm or carrier.

Thank you,

Thoughts and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

The more requests for the idea, the more likely it is to be implemented in future releases. Enjoy!
  • Thanks for your feedback, I appreciate you taking the time to tell us how you feel about our products. While the labeling features for channel identification technically is hinged, it is intended to be removed before wiring the terminals or making any changes to the terminations. As you have discovered, it is not very practical to do any work while the plate holding the label is in place. We will take this into consideration for future design if it is possible to hinge it in another way so that it doesn't need to be removed, but I don't think removing it causes a lot of burden on the technicians working in the cabinet or enclosure.
    Thanks,
