Nice. Good to know the issue is known and addressed. I will ask to see if we have this tool at our office and check it out. I'm thinking it's a thin tool that can slip down and free the flap. Cheers.

I wanted to let you know that I’ve opened a ticket today, and GSC has confirmed that there is a special tool required to remove the charm’s TB. They will be shipping it to us shortly.

I have had this reported twice, three times counting this input. Please open a CTS call with Emerson to log the problem for this customer site.

The TB's are held in the Baseplate with a small spring loaded "flap" that slides over a shoulder at the bottom of the TB slot. The Baseplate has a small wedge release plunger than is supposed to push the flap in and past this shoulder to allow release. If the flap is somehow dislodged and jammed or the wedge is failing to push the flap past the shoulder, the TB would not be able to release.

I have a reported TB exhibiting this on a demo at the office that I will investigate. However, the factory needs to be made aware of this happening.

On the customer site where this has happened, they left the terminal installed and assigned a matching CHARM/signal type. Not ideal, but a work around.

As far as I know, to remove the blocked TB, you would effectively have to destroy it. If the problem is with the release plunger in the baseplate, one would have to replace the baseplate, which cannot be done on line.
