Energize to Trip and Fail Safe Open

Hello,

I'm working on a project and we are using Fisher DVC6200 SIS as the valve controller. For the blowdown valves the EPC has specified "energize to trip" valves. In the P&ID these valves are identified as "Fail Open".

Reading through the documentation Quick start guide (D103556X012), on page 42 there is a functionality described as "Energize to Trip (ETT) Digital Valve Controller and De-Energize to Trip (DETT) Solenoid Valve".

My question is the following: does the "Energize to Trip (ETT) Digital Valve Controller and De-Energize to Trip (DETT) Solenoid Valve" is the equivalent of "Energize to trip and Fail Open"?

Regards,

Cristobal

  • Cristobal,
The Energize to Trip in the DVC6200SIS simply means
    1. 4mA input signal = full pneumatic output
    2. 20mA input signal = <1psi output
