Rosemount 708 wireless Acoustic Transmitter

Hello,

We are studing in our Fertilizers plant to use the Rosemount 708 wireless Acoustic Transmitter to detect Steam and Gaz leakage from steam traps and safety valves.

The question is that we noticed from the Ordering information that the Maximum size of mounting hardware is to be mounted to a nominal pipe size of 10-in, so is there any possibility to mount the device on a larger size pipe in case of the device must be mounted on a pipeline?

and is there a possibility to mount the device on the safety valve's body itself ? and if YES , where is the best spot to mount it on the body?

Another question was about mounting the device on a high temperature process pipelines, the mounting hardware was found also the maximum pipe size is 1 1/4 in, is there any possibility to mount it on larger size?

Thanks in advance ,

  • Ahmed,

Good to hear you are evaluating our technology. Please let me know if you are in contact with some local support or if you would like me to find a contact for you.

    1. You are correct. The mounting hardware that we offer goes up to 10 inches. You could go to a local hardware store and purchase a larger mounting band (hose clamp). What line size are you looking at?
    2. Yes it would work, guidelines for mounting can be found in the product data sheet. We typically mount on the outlet side of the relief valve. For steam traps we mount on the inlet.

    3. The high temp mounting hardware is only offered up to that line size.

Please feel free to email me directly with any follow up questions.
