The dual element RTD sensors only have room in the sheath for six wires so it is two 3-wire RTD's. Both the 644 and 3144 can take both sensors as inputs and provide a single analog output. However the two sensors can also be wired to two independent transmitters if they are being connected to different systems which is quite common.
