Calc Editor in Config600

I read in the manual about the Calc Editor in which an example is given about "SYS PEER CRITICAL". Paragraph 8.3.3 shows a description about the Calc Editor as "Special Edit"

I understand you can add and delete inputs and outputs, but how do I know which inputs are required. I can delete for all calculations all inputs, and Config600 will not complain. But without inputs you can't do any calculations. And add an additional input will not be understood automatically by the selected function.

Is there somewhere a document/help file in which is specfied which inputs and outputs are required for each function? Or in case I completely misunderstand the "Calc Editor" more information about how to use it.

  • You would need a pro license to make changes. Basically though when you setup a peer to peer link you have tick box selections for the main functions. Batching, proving, valves, samplers and PID control. Additionally it will transfer MF, KF Chromatograph data and any Keypad items without any other intervention other than these tick boxes.

It is though certain values you may wish to pass or block and this is what the sys peer critical does. If you have a pro license you add the item to the input and if you want to pass it to the standby machine you enter it in the same row in the output section. If you want to block any item you enter it only in the input section. These items are usually ones that you have created instead of the system wizard.

Thanks a lot Ian, for the peer to peer that's clear. But there are so many more types which you can add and to add/delete inputs to/from. For example "USonic incs", one of the many. Of course I do understand all the inputs which are there by default, but I am also still able to add and delete items. I could even add the number of records of the alarms/events to this block, which is completely useless of course...
So, in fact I am looking for a kind of list where all these functions are shown with required in- and outputs and what the types are doing. I think these calculations are the basis of the flow computer, but I can't find any documentation about it.

You would need a pro license to make changes in that area and to get this you need to attend our training course. the pro training calc table documentation will be issued to you once the course has been completed. Without the license unfortunately you are only using a demo license.

Aha ok. Thanks a lot. That makes sense.
