MASS FLOW METER CORE PROCESSOR OUTPUT

Hi all,

Can anyone clarify me what does the Core Processor communicates to transmitter via  RS-485 Communication and also does Mass flow meter core processor gives Mass flow rate as output to transmitter or totalizer pulses.

One more doubt what is the voltage/current pulse output level transmitted by transmitter and how much distance it can be transmitted without flow computer

  • The core processor sends all measured variables and diagnostic values to the transmitter. The primary purpose of the transmitter is to condition power for the core processor, to be a display and configuration interface and to provide physical outputs ( 4-20 mA, pulse and digital communications) for DCS/PLC. The mA output can be transmitted several thousand feet - this is one of the benefits of using current vs voltage. The pulse output distance is dependent on the gauge of the wire and the capacitance of the cable used. If you let your Micro Motion contact know how far you need to transmit the signal we can make a recommendation for the cable to use.
